Here we are at volume 40! We're more than halfway done with part 4 now. Kira's having some trouble adjusting to his new life, and our heroes are having a hard time adjusting to the new crop of Stand users! Read as Rohan almost gets killed by an 11 year-old kid (featuring one chapter in full color!!!), and marvel at the alien invader.

I've been told the next arc, Highway Star, is not to be missed! I guess I'll find out if that's true while I translate it! Expect it before the year's out - possibly quite a bit before, but we'll see.
Awesome! Loving these scanlations. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! This came out right as I began Part 4.
ReplyDeleteSup :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Btw is is possible that you've posted this on August 2nd, because i think i've been enterting your site every day and now it's August 5th, not 2nd.
Was definitely 2nd. It might be because the blog's converted to a .co.uk for some reason.
DeleteKeep up the good work guys!
ReplyDeleteGood job as always, thanks!!
ReplyDeleteGot any paypal ID I could send 10 bucks to as thanks for making the world a tiny bit higher quality?
ReplyDeleteBwahaha. Your money and your life foo'. No of course we could never do that, for a start we're a bunch of scummy pirates who are potentially blocking new JoJo series releases, and there are no huge costs associated with server hosting or anything like that anyway.
DeleteHonestly if you want to contribute you should throw those cents at the actual volumes or -- I think I heard that a higher margin of the sas figures' profits go to araki, not totally sure. Either way it's araki, his publishers and distributors that have put the real work into the series. Restecpa to them.
Best reply ever. I admire you.

ReplyDeleteRPS Kid vs Rohan is the best. fight. ever
ReplyDeleteThanks for scanslating, and by the way...
ReplyDeleteAre you still looking for Duwang version of vol. 36? Because I found out it still can be found on www.mangarush.com.
Looking for the full volume really, if you find it you should be able to throw it straight into that mediafire : )
DeleteRespect for this project! My first time reading through JoJo's, after I finish 40, I'll go to Part 5 and wait for more releases from you guys. Good job!
ReplyDeleteInvincible Trio, firstly I must say that I couldn't be more pleased with your efforts. For every volume now, there has been wonderful image quality as well as a monumental upgrade from the original Duwang dialogue. I really can't wait to see the rest of your work, especially with the knowledge that more of Kira lies ahead. I thank you on behalf of all Jojo fans and can honestly say that I have endless gratitude and appreciation for people like you. On the other hand, if you'll permit me, kind sirs, I'd like to nitpick on some very minor details. The latest few volumes have truly been perfect in every way. In addition to what I imagine is a flawless translation, there has been high quality cover art with Araki's input, as well as a great table of contents, among other things. However, for some of the first few volumes, either the cover art has poor quality and Araki's message is missing, or the table of contents isn't translated, or a combination of the two. This really is just a minor detail and it seems like it's not very important, but for some of us OCD-stricken Jojo fans, it makes all the difference in the world. I hope you'll be able to go back and correct these miniscule errors. If my memory serves, it's volumes 29-33 that need the touch ups.
ReplyDeleteFrom your fellow JJBA fan, Albogango.
Volume 36 could also use some touch-ups, but honestly we'd like to finish the series as quickly as possible without compromising quality first, and then go back for potential v2s of the early volumes.
DeleteAt least some of the issue is the quality of our scans for these volumes, though. Part of the delay on 41 is that our original scans were completely unacceptable so we had to get someone to buy a new copy, cut it up, and meticulously rescan every single page, and then we had to resize, rotate, color correct, etc every page so they'd all match. The benefit is 41 is going to have larger, higher-quality images for each page, but it takes time and effort to do that.
(also some personal stuff came up for me and I wasn't able to do any translation for a month. the bottleneck, it is me.)
Fair response. Couple questions. Is volume 30 your work, or is it done by Randy Turbo Johnson? I notice it's different from the rest. Also, when can we expect this marvelous volume 41?
DeleteThat was done by randy but we're guessing he doesn't mind us linking them, they've still got the credits pages on right?
DeleteAbsolutely no idea when 41 will get finished yet - the clean's pretty much done it's just redraws, trans and typeset needed. Just as a quick shout-out, most of our team members have gotten way too busy recently so if anyone is free for even menial scanlating work we'd really appreciate hearing from you.
How would one go about contacting you for said menial scanlating work? I have no past experience in scanlation, but I have endless free time, some experience with GIMP and Photoshop, and a passion for all things JoJo.
