In this one, Josuke and Rohan face off in the game of the century! It's everyone's favorite Suikoden minigame, Triple Toss! Also they get attacked by the Stand from Speed, which is pretty cool. Josuke is kind of a jerk for not using Crazy Diamond on Rohan's furniture though.

ReplyDeleteI really want to thank all of you for the hard work you've put into making Part IV truly readable for an English audience. I'm a new fan who started reading JoJo back in April, and the work which you have put out for this arc just gets better and better. Your recent volumes have such a great translation that the characters personalities shine through and have made the Part IV cast some of my favorite characters so far in JoJo. I wish you all the best of luck with this year and look forward to even more great work from you all!
ReplyDeleteI know it sounds stupid to ask this, but... when will you finish? There's only 5 volumes and 3 chapters left, so maybe in 1~2 years? I'm just curious.
ReplyDeleteThe current plan is volume 42 in late February, the rest of part 4 sometime in 2013. We should be done before next December if everything goes well.
DeleteHey, I'm really loving the work you're doing on this series. Thing is, I'm caught up and I'd like to hold off on reading the older scans for as long as I can, so I have a kinda desperate request. If you have translations for the later chapters/volumes, do you think I could use them to read with raws? I can typeset and proofread, so I can help out in exchange if you'd like.

I suggest skipping ahead to part 6 for now, then going back for the rest of part 4 and part 5 when you're done. We won't be sharing WIP scripts because they change very day as we reword stuff and check previous volumes for consistency and tone. But all of part 4 will be done this year.
DeleteOh it's okay, I went ahead and finished part 4 and I'm starting part 5 now. I'm not too keen on the idea of skipping around. But anyway, thanks again for doing this project. I'll be sure to collect the rest of the redone scans when you release them.

ReplyDeleteI just want to say Part 4 being my first "favorite" JoJo (currently its SBR), I love you guys for retranslating it. I get a feeling so so complicated. I can't wait to see it finished, but I'm being patient, a lot of work has gone into this and its one of my favorite scanlations out there (just in terms of being very smooth and easy to read)
ReplyDeleteI have no hate whatsoever for the Duwang translations in all their terrifying glory, but I absolutely appreciate this work. Having only recently gotten into Jojo, reading Part4 was a real challenge in the laughs department until I found your work. Keep it up. You're the best.

ReplyDeleteSorry for the long delay. There's two chapters left to typeset, a few pages that need some TLC from our touch-up artist, and then we need to check the whole volume for errors. With luck it'll be out this time next week, at the latest by the end of the month.
